BEFORE YOU START
- Sign in to your portal (web or mobile app)
- Have the documents ready — PDF, image, or any common file format
- For mobile: you can take photos of paper documents using your phone camera
STEP BY STEP
- Open the Documents or Requests tab in your portal
- Find the request your accountant sent you (it'll have a description like "Bank statements Dec 31, 2024")
- Click Upload — choose Files (existing) or Camera (snap a photo)
- For multiple files at once, drag and drop several files into the upload zone
- Wait for the upload to complete (you'll see a checkmark per file)
- Once uploaded, the request status flips from "Outstanding" to "Received"
- Your accountant gets a notification automatically
TIPS / GOOD TO KNOW
- Photos work great for paper documents — make sure the lighting is good and the page is in focus
- You can upload multiple files for a single request (e.g. 12 monthly bank statements as 12 PDFs)
- Once you upload, the item disappears from your "to-do" list — only pending items show
- Your accountant can re-request if they need a clearer copy
TROUBLESHOOTING
- Upload fails midway: check internet connection; try a smaller file or one at a time
- File rejected: check the file size limit; very large files (>1GB) may need to be compressed first
- Photo blurry: retake with better lighting; many phones have document scan modes
